SCS-VR Receiver Support

System Requirements

Complete the following system requirements to successfully use the SCS-VR:

  • Architecture Requirement — Ensure the database is hosted on a separate dedicated server and not located on the same server as the SCS-VR application.

  • Minimum Supported Baseline — The SCS-VR Application Server and the Database Server require a strict minimum of 8 cores and 32 GB of RAM. Configurations below this lack adequate margin for a life-safety signal path.

  • High-Volume Range — Depending on peak message throughput, application server requirements scale up to 24 cores and 48 GB RAM, while database server requirements scale up to 40 cores and 160 GB RAM.

  • Storage Requirement — NVMe or SSD storage is required. Ensure storage read latency is below 10 milliseconds.

  • Detailed Sizing — Hardware needs are dictated by your specific message volume (capable of scaling up to 12,000 messages per minute). Ensure you use the SCS-VR Hardware Requirements: Sizing Guide for Signal Receiving and Forwarding Deployments to calculate your exact core, memory, and SQL configuration needs.
